The MONSTRO 8K VV sensor can be considered a step up from the previous DRAGON 8K VV. An improved image quality, an even wider dynamic range (up to 17 steps), a better elaboration of details in the shadows are announced.
The MONSTRO 8K VV sensor has a resolution of 35 megapixels. with physical dimensions of 41 × 21.6 mm.
A camera with this sensor is capable of recording 8K video at 60 fps (75 fps in 8K 2.4:1 mode), and 4K video at 120 fps.
The write data rate can reach up to 300MB/s. Attention: the data is not given in megabits per second, as is usually indicated in cameras, but in megabytes per second!
RED Weapon can record video simultaneously in REDCODE RAW and Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD/HR formats.
